Graveyard Spigot

The water supply for the coolest cemetary I've ever seen. Ipswich, MA

Board-Walkers

Here's another "people try".

Sunset Dog

I've been trying to encorporate people in photos lately. I hope they don't mind....

Endless Sky

November on Crane Beach. This is actually one of my favorite times of the year to go there. The air is clear, no tourists, and the light is always good. You just have to get past the bitter cold part.

fun among the waves

Nice brisk November day at Crane Beach. Followed by a hot cup of cider and some doghnuts from Russel Orchards.

MY FIRST SHOW!!!!!!

Well the time has finally come that I'm able to pull myself from my busy schedule at my "day job" to show my stuff in person. If you're in the Ipswich area please feel free to stop by the Hall Haskell House (Ipswich visitor center) on Nov. 8th 6-8pm for the reception. Wine and hors d'Oeuvres will be on me. Or you can stop by earlier I'll be there all day.

Covered Bridge

You can't go to Vermont and not scope out the covered bridges. The country side is riddled with these marvelous examples of architecture.

Squirrel Point #2

Another view of the Squirrel Point Light.

Squirrel on the River

Squirrel Point Light on the Kennebec River, ME. It's also an amazing hike to get to this spot. And there's a reward of fresh blueberries for the picking and gorgeous view of the light.

Lighthouse with Blue Cranes

Doubling Point Lighthouse with the Bath Ironworks in the background. Shot from a cruise on the Kennebec River in Bath, ME

Sunshine on my Shoulders

I don't think the light could get any better than this.
Woodford State Park, VT.

Stuck in the Ice

Stepping outside of New England again for a weekend trip to Saugerties, NY. We stayed two nights at the Saugerties Lighthouse on the Hudson River. I highly recomend a visit or a weekend getaway at this wonderful peice of history. Good luck getting reservations!!!!

Wife on the Docks

Nothing like taking a picture of somebody taking a picture. That's my wife on the dock at Fort McClary in Kittery, ME.

Fire in the Sky (and on the beach)

4th of July on Crane Beach, Ipswich. My first time seeing the fireworks on the ocean. It was great because we could see the fireworks in every town up the coast, all the way to Portsmouth. I was less than impressed with the show here but the sunset was outstanding.

Rocky Beach

What you can't see are the little Jellyfish all over the beach... Not a good day to go bare foot.

quite a large rock

When I saw this rock I just had to wonder, how long has it been there?

LIghthouse in the trees

Goat Island Light in Newport, RI. This place was wierd to get to. We drove over to Goat Island, which is pretty much covered by the Hyatt hotel. The lighthouse is actually on the hotel's property so we had to park, walk through the hotel (which is pretty nice), go outside and follow a path to the lighthouse.

Men at Work

A peak at some Lobster fishermen gettin ready to head out for the day.

Cards at Ticon

Stepping outside of New England, just over the border to Fort Ticonderoga, NY. I love these old cards, they look hard to shuffle though....

Pemaquid Sunrise

This is probably my favorite place in Maine...

My wife has a painting very simily to this on her blog. Check it out... http://katiemcelwain.blogspot.com

Lobsta Doory

My wife is usually the one taking pictures of Doors. This one caught my eye the day after I asked her to marry me. We were staying at Hotel Pemaquid, I decided to take a little walk with my camera and came across this rickety shack, covered in lobster buoys. It's funny how out of place it was.

Christmas lights

This was actually my first night shot. It took a while to get the shutter speed right and the wind kept moving the camera. I think I got a couple good shots that night though.

Point Judith

January at Point Judith Lighthouse, RI. What's interesting is that just on the other side there was about dozen people SURFING!!! The water in New England is cold enough in the summer, I can't imagine surfing in January.

Cliff Walk Sunset

The sunset breaking through the clouds from the Cliff Walk in Newport, RI.

Winding Creek

From a hike near the beach with the reflective sand.

Reflective Sand

If you melt sand, you get glass. If you put a beautifull sunset on wet sand, you get an interesting mirror. This is my favorite sunset photo, it was on my honeymoon so I may be a little biased.

Africa in Maine

I thought this tree was funny. Through my view finder it looked like something you would see in Africa or something. The truth is, this about 100 feet from a beach near Kennebunkport, ME.

Cape Neddick Light

The weather on this day at "Nubble" Light was almost too perfect. It's hard to believe that this didn't come out of a story book or something.

Boston Boats

One of my few trips to Boston, so far. I have a harder time shooting photos in cities, it's so much busier. I have trouble finding good compositions.

Sunset at Cox Reservation

There is one thing you can't see in this photo..... The thousands of Mosquitoes eating me alive!!!

Dream House

Apparently this house on the Cox Reservation in Essex is owned by someone in NY. I wonder if he knows how lucky he really is.

Brick Lighthouse

This is a shot of Gay Head Light in Martha's Vineyard. That island is such an amazing place. Definately worth the trip.

Seasons at Cox Reservation

This was such a nice spot for a photo, I came in winter and summer... Stay tuned for the fall shot.

First Fireworks

My first try at shooting Fireworks. It's harder than you'd think.

Independence Sunset

Sunset at Crane while waiting for the Fireworks show, Independence Day '08

Rockport Behind the Scenes

A little glimpse of Rockport behind Rockport

Twins at Crane

Twin Rocks at Crane Beach

Foot prints on the Beach

My prints in the spongy sand at Crane Beach.

Missing something

Looks like someone mis-placed their bouy.

Gay Head Light

Gay Head Light, the highlight of our trip to Martha's Vineyard.
Sold at my first show.

Reservation Birdhouse

Some winter photography at Cox Reservation in Essex, Ma. You can get the idea that it was pretty cold that day.

Whispy Grass

I don't think there's a trail that looks more peaceful. You can't even tell that it was actually a very cold and windy day in November. I guess Martha's Vineyard is beautiful all year.

Beach at the Vineyard

Nice brisk walk on the beach in Martha's Vineyard.

Lobster Trap at Crane Beach

Looks like somebody lost something. You definately know when you're in New England.
